a light snow is falling here in Telluride-town, much heavier in the mountains above us. the ridgeline is partly obscured, and San Sophia station cannot be seen through the snow. The flag on the courthouse on Main Street is completely still.
what a tremendous blessing this trip has been to our family.
I am wearing...flannel jammies and socks. If my long undies weren't packed, I'd be wearing those too. It's cold in here, but we've come to enjoy the bundling up it requires, maybe even enough to drop the thermostat once we get home.
Rich talking on the phone to his parents.
I am thankful for...whatever is in front of us today. School begins on Monday for Matthew; I will set out Madeline's work tomorrow, if we get home on time.
From the kitchen...Christmas party food until the end of the week. We have two family Christmas parties this weekend. I'm going to try to plan menus for busy season on Sunday. I need a rotating no-brainer plan so I can focus on the people, instead of food, after school.
I am caring for the gift of my body...I bought a pair of snow shoes here in Telluride, and found a winter sport to love. I'd been curiously considering the snow shoes in the LL Bean catalog for a couple of years now, and finally pulled the trigger since I had to get on the mountain on this trip. I love to hike, why not snowshoe? So I have another option for winter fitness, which is always a good thing. Otherwise the plan is swim-MWF, walk/snowshoe TTh, starting again next week.
My eating habits have been completely different here than they are at home. I wonder why that is? Something to ponder.
I am caring for the gift of my soul...Divine Intimacy. Can't wait to get back to the Divine Office after I'm home and can download from iTunes again.
I am holding in prayer...
All travelers; Gabriel Project moms.
Around the house...the house is a mess. I will have laundry to do when I get home. I really want to spend a set amount of time every day purging 'stuff'. Simplify, simplify, simplify.
Activities for the rest of the week...
Two Christmas parties; swim team practice if we get home on time. That's it and that's enough.
Picture Thought for the Day...
will wait for another day.
